چکیده

The role of poet as a preacher and advisor has always been considered by ancient and contemporary critics and literature experts. Sometimes while giving advice and wisdom, poet guides people and sometimes scorn and satire moral defects and Abnormalities. Therefore, a direct relationship can be established between wisdom and satire whose aim is improvement of society and invitation to adornment by moral virtues. Al- ?u?ay?a is one the Maven poets that Despite his reputation to satire there is spark of wisdom in his poetry. This thesis we try is to study wisdom and satire in verse of Al-?u?ay?a by relying on approaches such as foreign-historical, internal-analytical, and sometimes statistical ones. And based on this, the present thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter factors affecting the poet’s life age and live are investigated. The second chapter examines the most important themes of wisdom and satire in the poet's poems. The third chapter briefly investigates the poet's style in expressing themes of wisdom and satire. One of the most important conclusions we got in this thesis is that many factors have contributed to the orientation of Al- ?u?ay?a towards wisdom and satire. Life, personality of the poet, social status, poverty, livelihood, teachers and so on all had role in the poet's approach to these two poetry techniques. In addition to wisdom, the poet deals with hospitality, courage, generosity, forgiveness and respecting Virtue; and sometimes along with satire he blames Stinginess, fear and lack of hospitality. Finally, we see that Al-??u?ay?a uses a simple and clear style for expressing his views. He has not taken advantage of metaphor and simile in his wisdom since these two Literary figures take away wisdom from simplicity.
