Abstract

Background: This research has tried to connect the three fields of waste management, circular economy and system dynamics. Aim: Due to the increasing in Per capita production of waste and creating environmental problems and disturbance in the ecosystem cycle, the necessity of investigating waste management and its control has been considered. The purpose of this research is to apply circular economy policies in municipal solid waste management using an efficient tool, to fully model the dynamic behavior of all variables of the problem. Methodology: The unit analyzed in this research is municipal waste management organizations in Bushehr city, And its statistical society is the experts of those organizations. In this research, was used the purposeful estimation sampling method. This research is among applied research. Also, from the point of view of data collection; descriptive-analytical and in terms of data type; Quantitative, and to investigation the data related to a moment in time; It is temporary. In this research, the dynamic system tool (Vansim) has been used to create a model and analyze the data. Conclusions: Over time in the coming years, the total amount of collected waste is growing and has an exponential behavior. On the other hand, with these conditions, we will need to use circular economy (recycling) measures. Therefore, the use of circular economy activity in the management of municipal solid waste is effective and after using this activity, the amount of recycled waste increases and the waste directed to disposal also decreases, which also causes a reduction in disposal costs.
