Abstract

Background: In this research, a connection has been established between the domains and concepts of digital, circular economy supply chain management and system dynamics. Aim: Due to the increase in per capita consumption of plastic in the agricultural sector and the creation of environmental problems and disturbance in the ecosystem cycle, the need to review the supply chain management of the plastic industry has been considered. The purpose of this research is to apply the impact of digitalization on the management performance of the rotating supply chain of the plastic industry by using an efficient tool, which fully models the dynamic behavior of changes of all variables. Methodology: The unit analyzed in this research is plastic industries related to the agricultural sector, and its statistical population is the information and experts of those organizations. In this research, the purposeful judgmental sampling method was used. This research is included in the developmental-applied researches. From the point of view of data collection, descriptive-analytical and in terms of the type of data, quantitative, and to examine data related to a specific time; It is temporary. In this research, the dynamic system tool (Vansim) has been used to create a model and analyze the data. The findings: Over time, digitization has reduced unfulfilled demand, reduced retailer inventory, reduced discarded products, increased reusable products, increased collected products, reduced manufacturer's on-hand inventory, and reduced retailer unfulfilled orders. With these conditions, there is a need to use new technologies. Conclusions: The impact of Internet of Things technologies and transportation system management on the circular supply chain is effective. Transportation system management platforms, thanks to IoT networks, simultaneously ensure logistics improvements by eliminating queues and barriers and support environmental compliance by reducing waste.
