Abstract

Considering the financial and process problems in the launching of vessels, in the present study, the investigation and modeling of the process of launching the ship using airbags has been done. In this research, previous studies have been reviewed and the required information has been extracted. According to the problems of the study in the experimental phase, a three-dimensional numerical model has been developed using the finite element method. In this simulation, a vessel with air cushions was designed and numerical modeling was done using ABAQUS software. In general, the purpose of this research is to better understand ship launching with the help of air bags; Because this method is one of the most up-to-date and modern methods available in the shipbuilding industry. In numerical modeling based on previous researches, the key parameters in the design of the launch process, which include the geometry of the air bags, the geometry of the vessel, and the environmental conditions, have been carefully investigated and implemented. In order to validate the numerical model, the analytical method has been used. In fact, by analyzing the forces, stresses and pressures applied to the structure, they have been investigated and compared with numerical data. Necessary tensile tests were performed to validate the numerical method and remove the possible scale effect. The numerical simulation results of these tests using the FE method are in good agreement with the actual test results. In fact, the results of different experiments are convergent. Through the investigation, it has been determined that the simulated model and the performed analyzes are in good agreement with the actual conditions of the launching process using air bags. According to the obtained results, it was found that the applied stress in the movement path varies between 20 and 180 megapascals. Through the investigations, it was found that environmental conditions and geometric changes lead to stress chang
