Corrosion as a natural process, which convert a refind-metal to more chemically stable form such as its oxid, hydroxide or sulfide. Corrosion is a big menace to the economy of the country. The loss due to corrosion has been estimated to be of the order of 2-5% of the GNP of any country.
In order to decresemy the metal corrosion, an experimental was conducted by using alkyd-based coating color with or without nanoclay on carbon steel. Results indicatd that modified alkyd-based coating with 11% nanoclay showed better corrosion resistance than other coating treantments. Evaluation the effect of effective factors such as time and envirement on modified alkyd-based 11% nanoclay using impedance electrochemical and tafel polarization techniques investigated. Corrosion protection of coatings was investigated in sodium chloride solution 3.5% and sulfuric acid 0.1 M. Polarization curves and nyquist and bode phase plot and diagrams were used to obtain the electrochemical parameters. The results showed that the coating provided with an increase of 11% of nanoclay produced an effective protection against carbon nanotubes against corrosion in sodium chloride solution 3.5%.
