Background: as a challenge of human development period, adolescence can provide the bed for risky behaviors. According to long-term potential problems related to risky behaviors, intervene with aim to reduce harmful factors is required.
Aim: the current study is aimed to investigate the effect of emotions adjustment on risky behaviors, negative and positive affect, psychological rehabilitation and educational emotions of university students. Methodology: the existing study is based on pre- and post-test. Statistical population is composed of all freshmen undergraduate students of Persian Gulf University of Bushehr for the academic year of 2016-2017. This population includes 400 students of different faculties who were selected by random sampling. After that, risky behavior inventory was distributed among subjects. 120 students make up the risky-behavior group. follow-up was taken into account via telephone. Among those subjects, 30 participants have taken part in the study. The remaining did not answer phone calls or they refused to take part in the study. Among 30 subjects (14 female and 16 male), 15 subjects have been assigned to control group and 15 subjects have been assigned to experimental group. all participants (control and experimental) answered RSPWB-SF (1989), CERQ (2001), PANAS (1988), AEQ (2003), and risky behaviors inventory. To analyze data, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, percentile and frequency) as covariance as well as chi square tests have been used. Results have shown that emotions adjustment emotion affects emotions and related components except for acceptance. Additionally, emotions adjustment emotion affects psychological rehabilitation and related factors. Emotions adjustment emotion affects educational emotions and related components except foe shame.
