Background: Universities are often seen as the engine of growth in a knowledge-based economy. In addition to research and education, universities play a third role in increasingly knowledge-based societies when performing specific tasks such as technology transfer, record concessions, and business outputs. This phenomenon has also been described in the entrepreneurial literature as a paradigm shift towards an entrepreneurial university. Faculty members, as the most important constituent element of universities and experts in their fields, have a good opportunity to participate in innovative activities and can participate in a wide range of entrepreneurial activities.
Aim: The purpose of this study is to identify the indicators of attracting faculty members with an emphasis on entrepreneurial universitiy.
Methodology: this research has an inductive Philosophical approach, in terms of purpose in the practical category, inductive approach and in terms of cross-sectional time horizon. This research, in terms of data collection method, is a qualitative research with exploratory nature. The participants in this study included 20 faculty members of the Persian Gulf University, which used targeted sampling. The data collection tools in this study are based on interviews and a thematic analysis approach has been used to analyze the data.
Conclusions:The findings of this study show that in order to attract faculty members with an entrepreneurial approach, it is necessary to have competencies in the field of knowledge,including experience in industry,recognizing entrepreneurial opportunities and opportunities in one's field, recognizing industries related to one's field,entrepreneurial knowledge, knowledge in market concepts and knowledge in economic concepts; Skills:Relationship with industry,New technology skills, problem-solving power, fluency in English, purposeful teaching, decision-making skills, research resume quality, ability to turn science into action, resume practi
