The magnetic properties of a periodic Permalloy ellipsoidal chain have been investigated by using micromagnetic simulations. The effect of magnetostatic interaction on the switching field is studied by changing both aspect ratio and thickness of ellipsoidal members while boundary edge spacing is keeping fixed and the external field is perpendicular to the chain axis. The simulations showed that the switching field increases vs. ellipsoid aspect ratio. Both intrinsic and configurational anisotropy contribute to shape the reversal process.
