In this study, the catalytic effect of NiCl2.6H2O is studied in C-C coupling reactions such as Heck and Sonogashira reactions.In the other part of this study, Ni-catalyzed direct coupling reaction of orthohydroxybenzaldehydes with aryl iodides for preparation of ortho-hydroxybenzophenon via the cleavage of aldehyde carbon-hydrogen bond in EG and in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide is reported.
