In many regions of the world soil salinity has become a very serious problem and also it reduce biodiversity and cause land degradation . Many plants can, t grow in saline soils. The ziziphus tree is resistant to heat and drought as well as the right to control soil erosion in arid areas. Some studies suggest that ziziphus tree is a good specis also compatible with salinity conditions. There fore, two experiments wore carritd out to determine the effects of soil salinity On seed germination, morphological characteristics and chemical composition of the leaves ziziphus tree in a greenhouse of the faculty of Agriculture and Natural resources, Persian Gulf university of Bousher. This study was a factorial exprimant in a randomized complete block design with two factor salinity and genotype. In the first experiment the seeds after treatment with fungicides Mancozeb and scarification were planted with different soil salinity in plastic pot. In the second experiment, seedling whit 6 to 8 Leaves planted in different levels of salinity. The results showed that increasing salinity levels in all genotypes significantly increased : days to germination, days to 50% germination, average day for Germination, but the average daily germination, germination Dispersal, germination maximum value, the value of germination, seedling survival rate, seedling length and number leaves seedlings decreased. The second experimant results indicate that the increasing salinity levels have a negative effect on Seedling growth. With increasing salinity, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of nodes, fresh and dry weight Shoot and root, root volume, the percentage of potassium and phosphorus leaf decreased. The leaves proline and the percentage of sodium it significantly affected by increaseing salinity. The obtained results showed that the two genotypes of wild ziziphus are more resistant to soil salinity than Indian ziziphus.
