In the current world, where thinking, appealing to rationality and pursuing the path of truth are more important than ever, and on the other hand, all states and nations regard their thoughts and actions at the highest level of maturity, still some of the actions which are based on incorrect beliefs and embedded in the roots of prejudice, shows the moods that has put the maturity of human society's thought into question. The tendency to nationalism (in its general sense) though sometimes brings society closer to its goals in the short term but rather than being in harmony with humanity and synergy, it has put societies at odds with one another and it has caused disagreement, contention, conflict and wars. How nationalism has impacted on the Arab community in the southern states of the Persian Gulf and to what extent it has been able to influence the social movements of Arab nations and their political tendencies are issues that will be dealt with in this research based on the description of types of nationalism. The study also shows how this thinking played a role in formation of the southern states of the Persian Gulf. The present research is a descriptive-analytical one that uses library and documentary techniques, explains and analyzes the discussed issue.
This study seeks to express that despite of the limited influence of modern European nationalism emerging in Europe, among the rulers and the general Arab community of the southern states of the Persian Gulf, because of continuation of the morale and preservation of Arab prejudices based on common Arab culture, traditional nationalism has been the creator of the actions and relationships between the ethnic groups living in the region in the formation of the new nation state in the second half of the twentieth century, and modern nationalism has played a minor role in this formation
