Abstract

The Russian Communist Revolution led to the formation of a new structure called the Soviet Union and new ways of exercising their influence and power in Iran. Access to the Persian Gulf, given its resources and strategic location, was one of the most important and ancient goals for Russian Tsarism and, of course, Soviet Communism. The occupation of Iran in the aftermath of World War II provided a clearer and more open ground for the spread of Soviet communism, which culminated especially with the creation of the Tudeh Party. The focus of this study is on examining the activities and endeavors of this party in line with Soviet plans and goals in infiltrating and reaching the southern parts of Iran, especially the Persian Gulf and its oil-rich regions, and in particular, emphasizes labor movements and strikes
