In this thesis straightforward methods for the efficient, one-pot synthesis of disulfides is described from halid compounds using sodium thiosulfate, in dimethyl sulfoxide.
Furthermore, a one-pot two-step tandem synthesis of disulfies is describes from the reactions of alcohols, triphenyl phosphine, potassium iodide and carbon tetrachloride in the presence of thiourea in acetonitrile.
In addition, a one-pot and three component synthesis of ?-bis alkylthio-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds from the reactions of sodium thiosulfate, Michael acceptors and 1,3-di-carbonyl compounds in polyethylene glycol is reported.
