Abstract

Background: Cognitive biases, errors that can occur for all people when judging and making decisions due to cognitive limitations and emotional factors and cause people to not be able to make rational decisions in their decisions. People are not able to process all environmental information immediately. , And academic failure indicates a situation in which the distance between the current academic status of learners and their expected status is reasonable. The aim of this study was An investigation into the effectiveness of modification of cognitive bias self-inefficiency on students’ responsibility, problem solving, and academic motivation.Methodology: In terms of methodology, the present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this study includes female high school students in Bushehr. Using multi-stage cluster sampling method, 3 schools were randomly selected from the second high school girls in Bushehr. In the second stage, four classes from each school (12 classes in total) with 300 students were selected and then 32 students with the lowest GPAs and their GPA was less than 15 were selected and using the random assignment method in two control groups (16 people) and witness (16 people) were included. Participants in both groups completed the Hepner Problem Solving Questionnaire, Academic Motivation, Individual and Social Responsibility. Then, after the pre-test, the cognitive bias of the experimental group was examined using the cognitive bias correction software. In the proposed study, the total number of sessions of the statistical population is eight sessions, which were held weekly. After the experiments, the results of the variables were evaluated and the effects of cognitive bias correction on self-inefficiency were assessed by Dot Prob software. Then, to perform cognitive bias correction during 8 weeks, Dot prob software was used one by one on the experimental group every w
