Abstract The present study aims at determining the influence of sand-playing on the creativity of preschool children in Bushehr City. For this purpose, a sample consisting of 30 students was selected by multistage random sampling method and it was divided into two experiment and control groups each with 15 students. The research tools included Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (Form B-figural), which was completed by the students. The plan of current research was of type experimental with posttest-pretest for control group.At first, pretest was carried out for both groups, and then the experimental intervention which was sand-playing technique was taught through eight sessions to the subjects of the experiment group. Finally, the posttest was implemented for both groups. Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) was used for analyzing the data. The results of MANCOVA showed that the sand-playing technique increased the creativity of preschool children in experiment group that the control group and a significant difference was obtained between the sand-playing experiment group and control group in terms of fluency, flexibility and originality factors, but in the no significant difference was achieved in the expansion factor between experiment and control group. In sum, it can be concluded that using the sand-playing can play an increasing role in growing the creativity in preschool children.
