Introduction
Dr. Zohreh Zahedi is an honorary assistant Professor of Information Science at Persian Gulf University in Iran. At PGU, she chairs the Social Media Data Studies (SMDS) research group in which she collaborates with distinguished international researchers in the field. She is also a visiting researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University. At CWTS, she is a member of the Quantitative Science Studies (QSS) research group and particularly contributes to the research line in Social Media Studies of Science. Her areas of expertise include the fields of information science, research metrics and indicators, social media metrics (altmetrics) and bibliometrics indicators, scientometrics, and research evaluation. Zohreh's research particularly focuses on studying the interactions between social media and science (Social Media Study of Science). Studying the various interactions of social media users with various content shared on social media platforms provides a great opportunity for obtaining valuable insights into the communications between different social media audiences and actors. Zohreh is a distinguished researcher in her field of expertise (Social media metrics or Altmetrics) at the national and international level. She has published a number of papers (more than 45 publications so far) on the topics of altmetrics in the leading international peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. She has also served as the reviewer and scientific committee members of most prestigious journals (particularly Journal of Altmetrics) and conferences (ISSI, STI, Altmetrics) in the field and has supervised some undergraduate and graduate students' theses. Zohreh has also served as scientific advisor and collaborator in some international projects (TUDeft University Library Altmetrics Project, Metrics Toolkit, National Information Standards Organization Altmetrics Working Group Data Quality) and collaborated with international colleagues during her research visits at the University of Wolverhampton in UK in 2013, University of Montreal in Canada in 2014, and University of Sheffield in UK in 2018. She has awarded some awards and grants among others: the excellent university Lecturer award from Persian Gulf University in 2011, National Ph.D. Scholarship Award for excellent students from MSRT in 2012, The Leiden University Fund (LUF) grant in 2014, An honorable mention and national award for her scientific achievements from Iran Ambassador in the Netherlands in 2015, The prestigious Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Award from the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics in 2015, the best altmetrics research idea award from Thomson Reuters and Altmetric.com in 2015, The 4th SCImago-EPI Award for the best article published in the 2014-2018 period in the information professional journal in 2019, and a sum of 10,000 euros grant awards from some other funding organizations such as European Union SoBigData consortium, Altmetric.com, London, UK, Elsevier/Mendeley, Moore, NSF, PLoS, Sloan, Oxford, UK, Aalto University Library in Finland, ACM Web Science & Altmetrics Conference, Indiana University, USA, and PLoS ALM, San Francisco, USA.
