Abstract An ef?cient, one-pot, three-component synthesis of various biologically important heterocyclic compounds is described via a tandem Knoevengel-cyclo condensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malono derivatives, and phenyl hydrazine derivatives in water and ethanol at room temperature.
