چکیده In order to design a nanobiosensor based on localized surface plasmon, we consider a periodic structure consisting of metal nanoparticles positioned on a dielectric substrate and investigate the effect of nanoparticles’ geometry and material as well as background refractive index on its performance. The substrate is made from sapphire and the nanoparticles are prepared from gold and silver with different geometries (nanodisk and nanosphere). The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is employed to calculate the transmission spectrum and investigate the influence of different parameters on localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). It is shown that the suggested nanobiosensor is very sensitive to the variation of sample refractive index. Moreover, it is possible to adjust the required spectral range by changing the geometry and material of nanoparticles.
