چکیده Objectives: In response to the propagation of bacteria resistant to many antibiotics, the discovery of new and more efficient antibacterial agents is Inevitable. The present study was designed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of five essential oil of medical plants, Origanum majorana, Ducrosia anethifolia, Foeniculum vulgare, Trachyspermum ammi and Pulicaria dysenterica against Escherichia coli and salmonella sp that isolated from infected local chicken. Salmonellosis is a bacterial disease caused by strains of Salmonella. It occurs in all of the birds. In almost all the cases it is an enteric disease of varying severity, usually involving diarrhea. Escherichia coli infections are widely distributed among poultry of all ages and categories. They are primarily related to poor hygienic conditions, neglected technological requirements or to respiratory and immunosuppressive diseases.
