In this thesis, the three-body systems of dt? and pd? are studied using a variational method. Only the Coulomb interactions of hydrogen isotopes and muon are considered in the hyper-spherical coordinates. Using NU analytical method, the mentioned systems are analyzed by reducing 6-dimentional Schr?dinger equation to one-dimension problem. Taking basis functions obtained by NU method and the variation of expansion coefficients, the ground state energies are given and compared with those previously reported. The dt? and pd? ground state energies equal to -307.00 eV and -222.85 eV, respectively. In comparison with previous works, the differences are within 3.8% and 0.6%, respectively. The results as basis data are used for the calculation of the formation and fusion rates of the muonic molecules. Since (1) the basic functions used are well-behavior and (2) the number of expansion terms is much less than the others, the fusion rate values can easily be calculated as well as the formation rates of the dt? and pd? muonic molecules.
