In executing most of the development projects, excavation is done with vertical wall. As the excavation operation is carried out, the balance between the soil particles is destroyed. protecting the walls of excavation and surrounding buildings is one of the major issues in civil engineering. One of the main structures in maintaining the excavation wall is retaining wall. Dynamic analysis of the wall is very important because of the influence on the performance of nearby structures. Different methods such as field measurements and observation, experimental tests and numerical analysis are among the methods of analysis of issues. In this study, numerical analysis of the dynamic behavior of rigid retaining walls was studied. The proposed method for analysis of problems was assumed to be Differential Quadrature Method and Localized Differential Quadrature Method. In this study, retaining walls in two type of pair walls and single wall with one and two backfill layers were studied. Then, dynamic response of rigid walls retaining a cross-anisotropic soil layer were assessed. The results were compared with the results of other researchers. The results indicate that the proposed methods have acceptable accuracy. In the analysis of pair walls, Differential Quadrature Method with an average error of 2.9% and in single wall analysis, Localized Differential Quadrature Method with an average error of 2.3% presented better results.
