Measurement of carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient in liquid systems is an important subject in chemical engineering processes and little information is available in this field. Experimental measurements of carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient in alumina nanofluid in concentrations of 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 wt% were used in the experiments and compare to the carbon dioxide diffusion in pure water is the objectives of this paper. Different factors such as test cell temperature, the weight percentage of nanoparticles on the carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient was investigated. Results showed at all concentrations, diffusivity of carbon dioxide in alumina nanofluid is higher compared to diffusivity of carbon dioxide in pure water and also temperature have a positive impact on the measures of diffusion coefficient and the highest diffusivity of carbon dioxide at the temperature of 35?C occurred for 0.2% concentration of aluminum nanofluid, 12.26×10-9 (m2/s).
