The entry of cadmium, as a heavy metal andexotic to human, into water could be seen as environmental hazard. cholorella kesslei is unicellular algae livable in contaminated environment and waste. The purpose of this experiment was to determine the resistance of Chlorella algae at different salinity conditions to cadmium. To do so, heavy metal resistance test was performed for the algae.Mediums of f/2 were prepared with consecutive salinities between 0 and 45 percent and in each of salinity, the heavy cadmium metal in successive dilution0 - 7 ul/ml of early stock (100mg/ml)was added. Solid mediums of f/2 with different concentrations of salinity and cadmium were made by adding agar. cholorella kesslei was grown on solid mediumsand allowed to grow for 5 days. After the growth period, it became clear that although Chlorella algae has grown well in the absence of cadmium in all plates, in the presence of cadmium the growth power of Chlorella algae varies depending on different concentrations of cadmium and salinity. With the increase of salinity to the concentration of 35 and 45 percent the maximum resistance of the algae to cadmium metal is visible.
