In order to mitigate the global warming and reduce the greenhouse emissions, the membrane technology can provide us with capability of a green technology to be used for separation aims. Natural gas processing is one of the most important processes producing pollution and consuming energy. In this work, a process has been introduced for simultaneously separation of heavier hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide from natural gas eliminating two energy consuming units of a general processing plant. PMP membranes were fabricated using solution-casting method and the chemical structured was proved by FTIR. The thermal stability analysis shows the membrane has a fair thermal stability with degradation temperature of 380 C. The permeability coefficients of propane and carbon dioxide in super permeable PMP membrane are obtained 6420.8 and 6410.3 barrers, respectively. The ideal selectivity of 4.5 for the desired separation of the design process presents this membrane as a high potential candidate for simultaneously natural gas conditioning and carbon capture.
