It has been more than a hundred years since the discovery and production of oil and gas in Iran. So the challenges of finding a way to recover Oil from hydrocarbon reservoirs have increased. One of the new methods of reaping which was considered by the researchers is the wettability alteration of the reservoir rock by nanoparticles, surfactants and hydrocarbon fluids. disulfide oil(DSO) is a byproduct of low-value oil and gas refineries. It is usually stored or burned in a refinery and is extremely hazardous to the environment. In this study, it has been shown that in the preparation of nanofluid by using DSO and reusing it inside the reservoir, in addition to preventing severe environmental damage, low cost base fluid can be used to the wettability alteration of the reservoir rock surface. Therefore, in this thesis ,first the Properties of DSO is determined , Since density and viscosity play an important role in upstream equipment and production rate, the experimental parameters of NRTL model for viscosity modeling as well as Radishl-Kister expansion for density modeling were determined. after, the performance of modified bio-calcium carbonate nanofluids with two types of water and DSO based fluid in wettability alteration of the hydrocarbon reservoirs is investigated. EDX analysis is used to determine the type of rock and Investigate the coating on the carbonate surface. Contact angle measurements experiments conducted before and after wettability alteration in order to determine surface wetting behavior due to nano adsorption of nanoparticles and solvents. In addition, sandpack experiments have been conducted to investigate the effect of nanofluids on fluid flow and oil recovery factor. Contact angle measurments demonstrated that after surface improvement, for the oil-water system, the rock wettability is altered from oil-wet to water-wet and for the gas-oil system, wettability is altered from strongly liquid- wetting to intermediate gas-wetting. It is also inferr
